All my love...all my light...2010--I wish I might......

2010-What a year. I can’t help but look back and reflect on the past 364 days and smile because I am such a blessed, lucky, and fortunate girl.

Music-

I saw a gaggle of concert this year. Band of Horses, Rogue Wave, and
State Radio top the list of the best ones I attended.

I got to go on tour with my favorite band…volunteering…which is the
best thing I could have asked for in 2010. Calling All Crows has become
such a huge part of who I am and who I am becoming…the people involved
and the situation/ideas/beliefs for which the organization stand for
are right in line with me and my life at the moment.

My indie rock music love only grew in 2010. The Black Keys, Bon Iver,
and Broken Social Scene make the list of bands that were play WAY too much.

Work-

Kept my job at ER and have made the best of a situation I haven’t
really wanted to be in. I adore the people I work with and it’s a
paycheck, so hell I will take it.

I started interpreting for a lovely Deaf man. This literally
makes everything I do ( i.e. work in accounting) worth it. I definitely
am rusty and need a little practice but it feels so good to be
signing again.

Health-

BLAH! Another crappy year…ulcers and car accidents make for a
slightly chubby and unhealthy Ashley going in to 2011.0

Friends-

Two dear friends moved from Colorado and have left me surrounded by my
non-single friends. Therefore I have become increasingly closer to my
guy friends.

My Lady Friend, Tiffany, got engaged. I love this girl to pieces, she
is literally my glue in Colorado and I am very very happy for her.

My college roomie, Janet, got engaged. I think Janet is heaven sent so
it makes me so happy she found Matt and is loving life.

I have made a multitude of new friends due to my involvement with Calling
All Crows. I feel truly blessed to have these people in my life and
honored that they think I am cool enough to call a friend ( as all of them
are younger except for the people who actually run CAC).

I have got to visit some amazing friends this year. Jeannette and Matty
came up to do Ben’s Bells in Boulder, I went down to Tucson and got to
play with Janet, Rachel and Kyle came up for the CU vs. Georgia game,
and Dustin….how can we forget Dustin , I never can came and played in
Denver a few times.

Family-

Bradley-

Bradley’s girlfriend of 10 years dumped him and he took it very hard. He
got a new job with his same company and now works in finance. He was
accepted into two top 25 MBA programs and is currently attending ASU. He
got to see Pearl Jam from like row 20 and Chris Cornell came out and
did Hunger Strike. He ran the California Triple Crown for half marathons.
We went to San Fran together and rode segways. Two of his best friends
got engaged, a few people died who he was very close to, he sold his
house, and he remained incredible through it all.

My Parents-

My dad continued doing his own business and contracting out for ER. My
mom worked in retail for all of 5 months and quit. They both competed in
the Bolder Boulder, my dad running it, my mom walking it Bradley. My
mom became president of the Conifer NewCommer’s association. My dad spent
2 months in the Bahamas.

Extended Family-

My oldest “little” cousin started Duke in the fall.
My grandma came to visit for Christmas. My Uncle is suing Chrysler.
My god son is still the cutest damn thing out there.

Boys-

I fell into a slightly slutty phase again in 2010 but have seem to
come out unscathed.

I was “talking to” my friend in Oregon for a bit..then I found out his
shady dealing and put an end to that.

Then there is Mucahel...thats is pretty much always there

I Broke only 1 heart that I am aware of!

Travels-

Little Rock, Tulsa, Dallas, Austin, New Orleans, Eugene, Eugene,
San Francisco, Boston, North Hampton, Tucson, Phoenix, Boston, and
Conifer.( Most of these were 1st times. )

Finances-

A little worse for wear…but my shoes rock!

Volunteering-

Children’s Hospital, DOVE, Calling All Crows, and Ben’s Bells!

2010, the age 26…all of it was pretty good to me. I am hoping to continue all this amazing-ness in 2011…hell to improve on it. I am still constantly learning, growing, changing…my ideas, thoughts, and perceptions are evolving with me. I am still a girl, trying to figure out her way…but hell…life is pretty fucking fun!
