26 things--

1.) If your apartment was on fire what 2 things would you want to grab so they wouldn't burn?

-I think most of you know I am a photography girl, I love photos…most of you have a photo hanging in my apartment. I would try to get as many pictures out of my apartment as I possibly could.

-My cards/letters/postcards. I have amazing friends and family who send me mail all the time, I love them.

2.) Most embarrassing moment

-I do not get embarrassed easily but I think if I was going to pick a specific event it would have to be from college. My roommate (and phenomenal friend) was working at Albertsons and I stopped by to say hi. I had an “Ashley Moment” while chatting in an aisle and I started dancing randomly, when all of the sudden Janet started laughing. A UofA football player was behind me laughing at my dance….so amazing.

3.) If you could be a superhero, who would you want to be and why?

- The sad thing about my past relationship is I know a ridiculous amount about comic books and superheroes.... therefore I know without a doubt I would want to be Emma Frost (bad girl gone good X-Men character)

“Emma Frost can read minds and project her thoughts into the minds of others, project force bolts which have no physical effects but which can affect a victim's mind so as to cause the victim pain or unconsciousness, and can also induce mental pain merely by touching the brow of her victim. Emma can now transform her skin and hair into a diamond-hard form at will. In this form, Emma is nigh indestructible except for one small flaw that, if exploited, can cause her to shatter. “

4.) What are you truly passionate about?

-Education….. I am hoping to get my Masters sometime before I am thirty.

-Women’s rights….sex trafficking, mutilation, women’s rights to choose, education of girls, and making women in needy countries more sustainable

-Darfur….the first time in US history that genocide has been labeled genocide and it is still happening. This ties back to women’s right because the women in the displacement camps get rapped while trying to get firewood.

-Music….I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t listen to my music. I love hearing new music and old music. I love that many of the bands I follow have non-profits and are socially aware.

-My friends….I don’t know what I would do without my friends. The ones that have stayed with me and still love me..well I would do just about anything for them.

-Stars….amidst my constantly changing world…stars have always been there. They shine bright and remind me of people I have lost, brighter times, and give me hope.

5.) What activities are you involved in beside work?

-I run…it is the only time that my mind stops working.

-I volunteer for an Abused Deaf Women’s shelter on the weekends.

-I volunteer for the Children’s Hospital on the Cardiac/Genetic floor.

-I volunteer with Calling All Crows - “is a service organization that mobilizes musicians and fans to promote human rights.”

-I watch more sports than most girls I know, and know more about them than most boys I know.

6.) Have you ever been in love?

-Twice.

-One, most of you have met. But we do not talk anymore, and I like it that way. That relationship set me back emotionally in a way I could have never predicted.

-One of my amazing friends, whom I dated on and off for years. He is actually my confirmation sponsor and probably the only boy who I would even consider marrying at this moment in my life.

7.) Something you wear everyday beside the obvious?

-I wear a ring on my right ring finger that my mother gave me when I was in middle school, and her father had given her when she was the same age.

-I wear 4 string bracelets and a Parsgehian foundation bracelet.

-I always have a silver necklace on. It is a starfish, a cross, or a cut out of a star. I want another star from Tiffany’s…just waiting till I can afford it.

8.) What’s your favorite Disney Movie?

-Peter Pan

9.) What do you love most about where you live?

16.) A moment in your life that defined who you are today, or helped shape who you are today

-I would have to say there are two times.

-Marcia Parseghian dying—it affects me every day and how I conduct myself each moment.
-Moving to Denver—I left my home of 17 years … Moving to Denver with no friend and no job made me very self reliant and self aware.

17.) If you could have one job in the world w/o considering education or salary, what would it be?

-Two years ago there was this web contest for the “greatest job in the world” and honestly I think it might be. The job was to be the caretaker of an island in the Great Barrier Reef. Everyday your job was to explore the island, snorkel the reef, climb the rocks, and just live off the island life and report about your experience…AMAZING.

18.) Who would you want to portray you in your biography movie …Living or dead?

-Marilyn Monroe, naturally (She had booty!)

19.) If you could pick any era in history to live in, which one would it be and why?

20.) Favorite State Radio song of ALL time! And you can only pick one State song, one of their songs you could listen to for the rest of your life ( This is a direct question from my friend Ali)

-Keepsake ( I think.....Maybe OmarBay, Sybil, Still and Silent...this is toooo hard for me!)

21.) What’s your favorite quote?

-I don’t have just one, recently I have loved Marilyn Monroe (smart chick)- but here are some

-"So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun." Chris McCandles

-"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." Marilyn Monroe

-“Be the change you want to see in the world.” Mahatma Gandhi

-“"I always tell the girls, never take it seriously. If you never take it seriously, you never get hurt. If you never get hurt, you always have fun, and if you ever get lonely, you just go to the record store and visit your friends. "Penny Lane

-"A wise girl kisses but doesn't love, listens but doesn't believe, and leaves before she is left." Marilyn Monroe

-"She was a girl who knew how to be happy even when she was sad. And that’s important—you
know “Marilyn Monroe
