Because I now have to "twitter" for the non-profit I work for.
Because I have a tumblr account ( http://teachingstarstotwinkle.tumblr.com/)that I barely post on (but it's theme is "thing's I am thankful for").
Because of this I am going to do a 30 day blog project on this account....
Day 01 - A recent picture of yourself with ten facts
From this past weekend's Community Organizer retreat in Boston-- Eric (Mobilization Manager), Me ( Denver Community Organizer), Matt ( Co-Excutive Director), Krista ( NYC Community Organizer), and Jenna ( Boston Community Organizer).
#1- I am a vegetarian for many reasons- but mostly because I don't believe in animal cruelty. If there is a chance my meat could come from a place where animals are mistreated I just wont eat it plain and simple.
#2- I am pretty obsessed with Colorado and all it has to offer.
#3- My blood type is B+ which I think goes along with my personality.
#4- I am obsessed with the non-profit I work for, Calling All Crows. I am obsessed with the interns and the other community organizers. I appreciate the people who take time out of their very busy lives to help out. I love the people who run the organization and truly believe they are some of the best people in the world....I have become quite the little feminist and pro-girl power supporter...watch out!
#5- I just bought a concert ticket to see Ben Harper and am beyond excited. Leading up to Ben Harper is 3 nights in a row of Dispatch...June is going to be amazing.
#6- My brother and I are either going to Maui or Grand Cayman this year...some friends might be invited.
#7- I cant stand laziness. If I go to the ocean I don't just lay out, I am in the water. If the weather is nice outside I am not laying in bed, I am running. There is no place for complacent and lazy people in my life.
#8- My brother and I have both come to the conclusion most people only care about themselves. The trick to finding out who cares about more than just what is going on in their world is listening to how they talk...they will talk about themselves, ask a question about you but not really listen, and then bring it right back to themselves. This being said I am optomistic that I have a ton of people who care more about others than themselves in my life.
#9- I am a firm believer that you learn so much as you age..the person I was when I was 18, 22, 25 is very (very) different than the person I am currently at 27. I would hate to think I havent grown, learned, and evolved with age.
#10- I am working really hard on not making rash decisions and cursing less. The rash decision thing is hard but totally worth it. And the cursing thig is more because I want to use my vocabulary to express how I feel instead of using a curse word.
I like u!
